Software Business Analyst

The Software Business Analyst role is responsible for creating innovative solutions that will solve customer problems and modernize our software. The Business Analyst should be analytical, a great listener, detail-oriented, curious, and creative. This will be a hybrid position where the business analyst will also design solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interview multiple customers to determine current processes, goals, and constraints
  • Utilize various business analysis tools such as The Five Whys, Process maps, Mind maps, simulations, and root cause analysis
  • Determine requirements based on customer process and pain points
  • Decide scope of projects to manage expectations internally and externally
  • Design solutions utilizing Figma to demonstrate detailed changes or additions required in order to meet customer requirements
  • Utilize UX/UI standards while creating designs in mobile, web and backend applications
  • Collaborate with development staff to create the best solution and verify that design can be executed
  • Present designs and process flows to customers to verify that the needs have been captured
  • Document detailed user stories and functional specifications to provide the Engineering staff with clear directions on how the software should function
  • Communicate with engineering team throughout development process to ensure that requirements are understood and address any outstanding questions
  • Assist QA staff with testing solutions created by you and help define the acceptance criteria
  • Participate in project planning meetings with Product team and Engineering team

Essential Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2-5 years of related work experience
  • 2+ years of customer interfacing experience – requirements gathering, solution design/presentation
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Experience with process flow documentation
  • Excellent understanding of and involvement in the full SDLC 
  • Experience with a variety of tools for Analysis, BPMN, Mockups, Documentation

  • Experience using Figma
  • Experience with Agile software development
  • Prior experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience with an ERP system
  • Tactical experience in warehouse and delivery services
